Finding where to watch Yellowstone Season 5 in Canada confuses many viewers because the US broadcast network, Paramount Network, doesn't operate as a traditional cable channel north of the border. If you're searching for your Canadian channel guide to catch the Dutton family saga, you won't find it on standard linear cable packages. Instead, Paramount+ Canada holds the exclusive subscription streaming rights for the entire fifth season.
Navigating Canadian broadcasting rights for major US cable hits requires knowing which platforms carry specific titles. Because licensing deals cross borders differently, traditional television providers like Rogers, Bell, or Telus don't broadcast new episodes live on regular cable networks. This guide breaks down exactly where you can stream Season 5, what subscription tiers cost, and how to access every episode without wasting time on dead ends.
Where to Stream Yellowstone Season 5 in Canada
The primary home for Yellowstone Season 5 in Canada is Paramount+. Unlike the United States—where the show's broadcast rights are split between Paramount Network for linear TV and Peacock for streaming—the Canadian market relies heavily on the standalone direct-to-consumer platform.
When Part 1 and Part 2 of Season 5 rolled out, episodes dropped directly onto the platform for Canadian subscribers. You don't need a traditional cable subscription, and you don't need a live TV add-on.
- Paramount+ Canada Standard Tier: Offers access to the complete library, including all 14 episodes of Season 5, in high definition.
- Add-on Channels: If you subscribe to Amazon Prime Video or Apple TV Channels in Canada, you can also add Paramount+ as an external channel channel subscription, letting you watch inside your preferred app interface.
Understanding Canadian Broadcast and Cable Limitations
A common point of frustration for Canadian cord-cutters and cable subscribers alike is checking local channel guides expecting the Paramount Network feed. While major Canadian providers offer US networks like CNN, HGTV, or AMC, the Canadian version of Paramount Network historically lacked the carriage rights for first-run premium dramas like Yellowstone.
If you search your digital cable box guide for Yellowstone, you'll likely come up empty. Network syndication agreements signed years prior meant that international distribution went straight to streaming services rather than local linear channels. Relying on physical cable boxes won't help you catch up on John Dutton's political moves or Beth's latest corporate feud.
Step-by-Step Guide to Watching Season 5 Online
Getting set up to watch the final episodes takes just a few minutes if you follow the right path.
- Go to the official Paramount+ Canada website or download the app on your smart TV, phone, or streaming stick like Roku or Fire TV.
- Choose an email and password to create a new account, or log in if you already have an active profile.
- Select a monthly or annual subscription plan. Review the current promotional pricing if available.
- Enter your preferred payment method (credit card or in-app purchase via Apple/Google).
- Search for "Yellowstone" inside the app, select Season 5, and choose your episode.
Alternative Digital Purchase Options
Subscriptions aren't the only route if you prefer owning digital copies of your favorite television seasons rather than renting access through an ongoing monthly fee.
Digital storefronts such as the Apple TV app and the Google Play Store typically offer Season 5 for individual purchase. Buying a full-season pass lets you download episodes to compatible devices for offline viewing. Keep in mind that digital storefront pricing varies, and purchasing individual seasons often costs more over time than a short-term streaming subscription if you plan to binge the series quickly and cancel.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
Viewers often waste time chasing incorrect broadcast routes due to outdated internet forums or crossed US-Canada media wires.
- Don't look for Peacock in Canada: US guides frequently point viewers to Peacock for Yellowstone streaming. Peacock is unavailable as a standalone service in Canada, leading to dead ends for local fans.
- Don't expect free live cable feeds: Checking local broadcast schedules for Global, CTV, or Citytv won't yield results because none of these networks licensed Season 5 for open-air television.
- Don't rely on basic Netflix accounts: While older seasons of various Taylor Sheridan projects pop up on different platforms regionally, Season 5 is tightly bound to Paramount's ecosystem.
