Planning a trip to the coast? The Walmart Supercenter in Newport, Oregon sits right off the main highway paths, serving locals and travelers stocking up on groceries, beach gear, and pharmacy needs. Finding current store details shouldn't require digging through outdated pages.
The Newport Walmart Supercenter (Store #1925) is located at 160 NW 25th St, Newport, OR 97365. General store hours run daily from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM. You can reach the main customer service desk by calling (541) 265-6560.
Location and Access on the Oregon Coast
Positioned centrally in Newport within Lincoln County, this supercenter handles heavy foot traffic from both coastal residents and weekend tourists heading toward Yaquina Bay or local state parks. Because of its central placement near Highway 101 corridors, it serves as a primary stop for bulk provisioning before heading to remote rental cabins or campsites.
Finding parking is straightforward during off-peak hours, though the main lot gets congested on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings as locals do weekly grocery runs. If you're driving an RV or towing a trailer, keep in mind that local municipal rules and store policies generally prohibit overnight parking in the lot. You'll want to book an authorized coastal RV park instead of trying to sleep overnight at the store.
Core In-Store Departments and Operating Hours
A standard trip involves navigating multiple specialized counters inside the massive floor plan. Knowing when specific departments open saves you an extra trip.
Grocery and Fresh Produce
The supermarket section fills the left side of the building, offering fresh meat, bakery items, dairy, and a full produce layout. Prices match standard regional tiers, and stock is replenished nightly.
Pharmacy and Health Services
The pharmacy operates on slightly different hours than the main retail floor.
- Standard Pharmacy Hours: Typically open Monday through Saturday, closing earlier around 7:00 PM, with shortened hours on Sunday.
- Lunch Closures: Note that the pharmacy staff usually takes a daily midday break, often from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM, meaning drop-offs and pickups pause during that window.
- Phone Contact: Reach the pharmacy directly at (541) 265-6076 for refill questions or vaccine availability.
MoneyCenter and Financial Services
For check cashing, money orders, or bill payments, the MoneyCenter opens early alongside the main doors at 6:00 AM. Lines are shortest if you arrive before 10:00 AM on weekdays.
Curbside Pickup and Delivery Logistics
If you don't want to wander the aisles, the Newport location supports full online ordering via the Walmart Store Locator or mobile app.
- Place your order: Add items to your cart online, meeting the minimum order threshold for pickup.
- Select a time slot: Slots fill up quickly during summer tourist peaks and holiday weekends, so lock in your window a day early.
- Park in designated stalls: Drive to the marked pickup spaces on the side of the building and check in via the app using your bay number. An associate loads the bags directly into your trunk.
Common Shopping Mistakes to Avoid
Shoppers often run into a few predictable snags at this specific location. Avoiding them keeps your errand smooth.
- Assuming 24-hour access: While Walmart used to be open around the clock, this location closes its main doors promptly at 11:00 PM. Late-night emergency supply runs aren't an option.
- Forgetting pharmacy lunch hours: Driving over at 1:45 PM to grab a prescription results in waiting in your car until the window reopens at 2:00 PM.
- Treating the parking lot as an RV campground: Local ordinances prevent overnight vehicle camping here, and security enforces these rules strictly during peak travel seasons. Check out Oregon State Parks for legitimate nearby campgrounds.
