The Super Bowl LIX halftime show featured hip-hop artist Kendrick Lamar as the headliner, taking center stage at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. The event kicked off on Sunday, February 9, 2025, with the performance starting at approximately 8:00 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. ET (5:00 p.m. PT), depending on the exact pacing and length of the first half.
Coverage of the game and the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show was broadcast live in the United States on Fox and streamed on platforms like Tubi.
Headliner and Guest Performers
Kendrick Lamar headlined the 2025 show, marking his return to the Super Bowl stage after his appearance alongside Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and 50 Cent at Super Bowl LVI in 2022. Joining Lamar for portions of the set was fellow artist SZA, executing collaborative tracks that energized the New Orleans stadium.
Production for the show was co-produced by Roc Nation, Apple Music, and the NFL, maintaining the multi-year partnership established to curate contemporary music icons for football's biggest night.
Exact Start Time and Game Flow
Because the Super Bowl schedule depends on live athletic competition, a rigid minute-by-minute timestamp for the halftime show is never guaranteed.

- First Half Duration: Typically lasts around 90 minutes, including television timeouts, quarter breaks, and referee reviews.
- Halftime Window: The show commenced between 8:00 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. ET, running for roughly 13 to 15 minutes before the second-half kickoff.
Fans tuning in strictly for the musical performance typically logged on or switched channels by 7:45 p.m. ET to avoid missing the transition from the gridiron to the stage.

Common Mistakes When Tuning In
Many viewers miss the opening moments of the halftime show due to simple timing errors. Here's how to avoid them:
- Trusting a rigid clock: Assuming the show starts at exactly 8:00 p.m. ET. If a half features minimal penalties, few incomplete passes, and short drives, the clock runs fast, pushing the break closer to 7:50 p.m. ET. Conversely, lengthy reviews can delay the performance.
- Ignoring local time zone conversions: Mixing up Eastern, Central, Mountain, and Pacific times often results in fans logging on halfway through the set.
- Overlooking streaming latency: Digital streaming platforms frequently lag behind broadcast cable by 30 to 60 seconds, meaning neighbors watching via antenna or cable might spoil surprise guest appearances seconds before they appear on a phone or laptop screen.
