Skai Jackson's boyfriend name is Deondre Burgin, widely recognized by his online alias Yerkky Yerkky. The relationship between the former Disney Channel star and the content creator drew heavy public attention following pregnancy announcements, legal hurdles, and subsequent developments that played out across social media platforms.
Celebrity relationships often capture public curiosity, especially when personal milestones collide with controversy. If you're looking past surface-level headlines to understand who Deondre Burgin is, how they connected, and what transpired during their time together, you're in the right place. Let's break down the facts behind the headlines without the fluff.
Who Is Deondre Burgin?
Deondre Burgin operates primarily as a digital content creator and social media personality. Online circles frequently associate him with the moniker Yerkky Yerkky. Unlike traditional Hollywood actors or mainstream musicians, Burgin's visibility stems largely from independent digital platforms and viral moments.
Before his association with Jackson became a major talking point across entertainment news outlets, Burgin maintained a relatively low profile outside of his immediate online following. Details about his background emerged incrementally as tabloids and digital sleuths began digging into his history following public announcements made by Jackson and her representatives. As reported in latest reports by Reuters, the results are notable.
How Skai Jackson and Deondre Burgin Met
Reports surrounding the origins of their relationship suggest an unconventional beginning. Sources indicate that the pair crossed paths while Burgin spent time incarcerated. According to various reports, correspondence blossomed through written letters and messages during his time behind bars, eventually leading to a romantic connection once he was released.
While many fans expressed surprise at the pairing, celebrity culture frequently intersects with unexpected romances. The timeline moved relatively quickly, transitioning from private interactions to public acknowledgments as followers pieced together social media hints, shared photographs, and industry gossip.
Pregnancy Announcement and Legal Complications
The relationship reached a major turning point when public confirmations revealed that Jackson was expecting her first child. In late 2024, media outlets like People reported the pregnancy confirmation directly from official sources.
However, public joy was quickly overshadowed by legal turbulence. Just days after the pregnancy news broke, Burgin faced arrest in Cincinnati, Ohio, for violating parole and attempting to evade law enforcement. This incident added immediate scrutiny to the relationship, putting both individuals under a harsh media spotlight. Observers closely monitored how Jackson handled the unfolding legal drama while navigating her first pregnancy.
Breakup and Restraining Order
By mid-2025, the dynamic shifted drastically. Court records and public reports confirmed that Jackson filed for a restraining order against Burgin, accusing him of assault and battery following the birth of their child in January 2025. This legal filing marked a definitive end to the romance, transitioning the narrative from a whirlwind courtship to a complex legal separation.
Navigating high-profile breakups under public scrutiny is never easy, particularly when infants and protective orders are involved. Both parties stepped back from sharing joint updates, focusing instead on individual paths moving forward.
