Preston Blaine Arsement, widely recognized across the internet by his online persona PrestonPlayz, was born on May 4, 1994. As of 2026, he is 32 years old. Over more than a decade, he evolved from a niche Call of Duty commentator into one of the most recognizable family-friendly gaming and challenge creators on YouTube, commanding multi-channel networks and capturing billions of views.
Understanding the scale of his digital footprint requires looking beyond just a birth date. Fans often search for how he built his empire, what his background looks like, and how he transitioned from early shooter game clips to massive family-oriented Minecraft and Roblox channels.
Early Life and Finding Gaming
Growing up in Texas, Preston showed an early fascination with video games, logging hours on classic titles like Sonic the Hedgehog on the Sega Genesis when he was just four years old. Like many teenagers of the late 2000s, he spent hours watching early online gaming content, finding inspiration in creators who turned gameplay commentary into a community space.
Before committing to full-time content creation, he briefly attended college with intentions of pursuing a career in medicine. However, the summer after graduation brought a shift in perspective. Realizing that standard academic tracks didn't match his ambitions, he chose to pivot entirely toward the digital landscape—a risk that ultimately shaped his professional trajectory.
The Evolution of the PrestonPlayz Channels
Preston didn't launch straight into his current multi-million subscriber format. His initial breakthrough happened through his first channel, TBNRfrags, created in November 2010. That channel focused heavily on fast-paced shooter titles like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and later Fortnite.
Recognizing the explosive popularity of sandbox games, he launched the PrestonPlayz channel in July 2012, centering his content primarily around Minecraft. Over the years, he expanded further by introducing dedicated hubs for Roblox (PrestonGamez), vlogs, real-life challenges, and YouTube Shorts.
This multi-channel approach allowed him to capture different segments of the gaming audience. According to data tracked by platforms like Wikipedia, his primary channels have collectively accumulated tens of millions of subscribers and billions of lifetime views, placing him consistently among the top tier of independent digital creators.
Business Ventures and Community Impact
Beyond uploading daily videos, Preston built robust business infrastructure around his brand. He co-founded CosmicPvP, a prominent Minecraft server network that offered custom game modes like Factions and KitPvP, drawing in active players from across the globe.
He also partnered early with major digital talent management networks like Night, aligning his brand with high-profile brand deals, merchandising lines, and cross-platform expansions. His ability to adapt content styles—shifting from hardcore gaming walkthroughs to broad, high-production real-world challenges—helped insulate his channel against shifting platform algorithms.
Personal Life and Family
Preston married fellow content creator Brianna Barnhart, widely known as BriannaPlayz, in 2018. The couple resides in Dallas, Texas, where they frequently collaborate on family-friendly videos, challenges, and lifestyle content. Outside of filming, he maintains a close relationship with his siblings, several of whom have occasionally appeared or participated in his gaming setups. In late 2026, the couple shared public announcements regarding the upcoming arrival of their first child, marking a new chapter in both their personal lives and public journey.
