When people search for the legacy of Odell Beckham Jr's brother, they often expect to find a rising football star following in the footsteps of the famous NFL wide receiver. The reality is a bit different. Odell Beckham Jr. has younger half-brothers named Kordell and Sonny Beckham, but neither is an aspiring professional football player tracking a path to the gridiron. Instead, the Beckham family name is expanding into fashion, entertainment, and reality television, led most notably by Kordell Beckham.
Understanding the actual dynamics of the Beckham family clears up common misconceptions found across sports blogs. While Odell Beckham Sr. was a standout running back at LSU, and Odell Jr. built a storied career winning a Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams, the younger siblings have carved out distinct paths away from competitive sports.
Who Is Kordell Beckham?
Kordell Beckham stepped into the national spotlight through entertainment rather than sports. Born on May 27, 2002, Kordell built a following as a fashion model, walking runways for various independent streetwear and high-fashion labels. His distinct personal style and curated social media presence laid the groundwork for mainstream media exposure.
In 2024, Kordell became a household name by joining the cast of Love Island USA Season 6. He quickly won over viewers with his relaxed personality, humor, and loyalty on the show, ultimately winning the entire season alongside his partner Serena Page. Rather than chasing NFL scouts, Kordell pursued opportunities in entertainment, including scripted television projects.
The Athletic Background of Odell Beckham Sr.
To understand why fans assume athletic greatness runs through every sibling, it helps to look at the family patriarch. Odell Beckham Sr. played running back at Louisiana State University (LSU) during the early 1990s. His athleticism set a high bar for his children.
Odell Beckham Jr. followed that blueprint by dominating high school football in New Orleans before starring at LSU and being drafted in the first round by the New York Giants. His explosive rookie season, historic one-handed catches, and Pro Bowl appearances cemented the Beckham surname in modern football history. Because of this intense athletic legacy, rumors frequently circulate online claiming younger brothers are training to join the NFL, even when those rumors lack factual backing.
