Navigating local television programming across New Mexico requires knowing how to track daily broadcasts, local news programming blocks, and syndicated entertainment slots. KRQE, the CBS-affiliated and dual FOX/MyNetworkTV partner station serving Albuquerque and Santa Fe, anchors daily viewing for hundreds of thousands of households. Finding the right schedule means understanding how morning news transitions into daytime syndicated talk shows, evening local reporting, and primetime network lineups.
Viewers tuning into KRQE 13 rely on a consistent broadcast rhythm that balances regional journalism with national entertainment. Whether you're checking broadcast times for local weather updates or tracking syndicated favorites like Family Feud and Judge Judy style court programming, understanding the station's grid helps you catch your favorite programs without missing a beat.
Core Daily Programming Blocks
The broadcast day on KRQE unfolds through structured programming blocks designed to match viewer routines across New Mexico. Mornings kick off with extensive local news coverage before shifting into daytime lifestyle and talk programming, while evenings transition from local investigative reporting straight into primetime network slots.
Morning News and Wake-Up Blocks
Early risers get local updates starting well before dawn. KRQE broadcasts early morning news blocks beginning at 4:30 AM, followed by KRQE News 13 This Morning. These early segments focus heavily on overnight developments, regional morning weather forecasts, and commuter traffic alerts across Bernalillo and Sandoval counties. Analysts at Vanity Fair have provided expertise on this trend.
Mid-morning viewing shifts from hard news to regional lifestyle content through programs like New Mexico Living, which highlights local businesses, community events, cooking segments, and cultural happenings across the Duke City.
Daytime Talk and Syndicated Favorites
As late morning rolls into afternoon, KRQE features popular nationally syndicated talk shows and court programs. Viewers frequently catch daytime mainstays such as The Drew Barrymore Show, game shows like Scrabble and Trivial Pursuit, and legal arbitration series including Hot Bench and Judy Justice.
These daytime slots provide steady entertainment before the early evening news cycle picks up steam. Syndicated game shows like Family Feud also populate the early fringe hours just before local evening broadcasts begin.
Evening News and Primetime Lineups
The transition from afternoon syndication to evening news marks one of the heaviest viewing periods for local households tracking community events, politics, and statewide investigations.
Evening Newscast Schedule
Local reporting takes center stage during the late afternoon and evening hours. Key broadcast windows include:
- KRQE News 13 at 4:00 PM and 4:30 PM: Early evening updates on developing regional stories.
- KRQE News 13 at 6:00 PM and 6:30 PM: Comprehensive reporting on state politics, crime, and weather.
- KRQE News 13 at 9:00 PM and 9:30 PM: Primetime updates broadcast for viewers following late-night schedules, often paired with FOX New Mexico programming blocks.

Primetime Network Alignment
Because KRQE operates as a primary CBS affiliate while also managing digital subchannels and partner broadcasts for FOX, its primetime lineup aligns with national CBS schedules. Popular primetime offerings include investigative journalism series like 48 Hours and Dateline, major network dramas, and reality competitions. Syndicated staples like Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune frequently bridge the gap between local evening news and national primetime blocks.
How to Access KRQE 13 Without Cable
Traditional cable subscriptions are no longer the only way to follow the daily broadcast schedule. Viewers across Albuquerque have multiple options for catching KRQE feeds live:
- Over-the-Air Antenna: Because KRQE broadcasts via digital signal across central New Mexico, a standard HD digital antenna pointed toward local transmission towers provides free, uncompressed local broadcasts.
- Live Streaming Services: Cord-cutters utilize streaming television providers that carry local network affiliates, such as Paramount+ (for CBS programming) or live-TV streaming bundles like YouTube TV and FuboTV, which include KRQE in their Albuquerque local channel lineups.
- Station Apps: The official KRQE mobile and connected-TV apps offer live newscasts, digital weather radar updates, and on-demand clips of top local investigative reports.
