Ian Ziering's Current Residence: Where Does the Star Live?
Ian Ziering maintains his primary residence in the Los Angeles, California area, keeping close ties to the entertainment industry where he built his long-running television career. Best known for his iconic decade-long portrayal of Steve Sanders on Beverly Hills, 90210 and his later resurgence as Fin Shepard in the cultural phenomenon Sharknado, the actor has spent decades navigating Southern California real estate. While public records and privacy measures keep exact street addresses confidential, his residential footprint has long centered around the upscale pockets of Los Angeles and coastal Southern California, where he raises his family and manages his professional ventures.
The actor's connection to Southern California deepened over decades of continuous television and film work. Unlike many stars who split time permanently between coasts, Ziering stayed anchored in the Los Angeles metro area following his divorce from Erin Ludwig, balancing shared parenting responsibilities for his two daughters, Mia and Penna, with an active slate of screen projects, voice acting jobs, and independent producing endeavors.
Southern California Roots and Real Estate History
Ziering's journey in California real estate mirrors his career evolution from 1990s teen idol to versatile character actor and producer. Born in Newark, New Jersey, and raised in West Orange, he relocated permanently to the West Coast when Beverly Hills, 90210 exploded into a global hit in the early 1990s.
During his marriage to former Playboy model Nikki Schieler and his later marriage to Erin Ludwig, property holdings shifted across premier Los Angeles neighborhoods. Celebrity real estate trackers have long noted the actor's preference for family-friendly suburban enclaves within striking distance of major studio lots. These locations offer privacy from the heavy tourist traffic of Hollywood while providing secure, gated environments well-suited for raising children.
Key factors that shaped his choice of residence over the years include:
- Proximity to Production Hubs: Maintaining a home within short driving distance of Burbank, Culver City, and Hollywood studios for early call times.
- Family Privacy: Choosing neighborhoods with restricted public access to protect his children from aggressive paparazzi and media intrusion.
- Investment Potential: Viewing Southern California residential real estate as a stable long-term financial asset alongside his commercial holdings.

Following his memorable stint on Dancing with the Stars, his career renaissance with the Sharknado franchise, and voice acting roles in animated series, he remains heavily active in the entertainment guild.
He frequently participates in nostalgic 90210 cast appearances, comic conventions, and independent film projects. In late 2023, he made headlines after an unfortunate traffic altercation on Hollywood Boulevard, which highlighted his protective instincts as a father when he stepped in to defend himself and his daughter from a reckless group of riders. Despite the jarring incident, Ziering quickly returned to his normal routine, focusing on fitness, acting, and his family life in Los Angeles.
