The Blessing of the Welkin Moon is a paid subscription item in Genshin Impact that costs $4.99 USD per month. If you're searching for how to claim a free Welkin Moon, you need to know the direct truth immediately: HoYoverse does not offer a free track, standard in-game code, or permanent mechanic to earn an active Welkin subscription without spending real money or using external reward platforms.
Scams, phishing links, and fake generator websites frequently target players searching for ways to bypass this paywall. Protecting your account means understanding the official rules, legitimate third-party reward routes, and how to maximize your Primogems without risking a security breach.
Why There Is No Direct Free Welkin Moon
HoYoverse structures monetization around two main purchases: the Gnostic Hymn (Battle Pass) and the Blessing of the Welkin Moon. Unlike the Battle Pass, which features a free tier alongside its paid track, the Welkin Moon has no free version.
When purchased, it instantly grants 300 Genesis Crystals, followed by 90 Primogems delivered through your in-game mailbox every day for thirty days. Totaling 3,000 Primogems (or 2,700 Primogems plus 300 crystals), it represents the highest Primogem return per dollar spent in the game. Because its value is so high, malicious actors exploit the community's desire for free currency through fake generator sites and phishing scams.
Legitimate Ways to Get a "Free" Welkin Moon
While you can't click a button inside Teyvat to activate a free subscription, you can legally acquire a Welkin Moon using external reward ecosystems that convert time or points into gift cards.
Microsoft Rewards Strategy
Many free-to-play travelers fund their subscriptions using Microsoft Rewards. By completing daily searches, mobile tasks, and quiz activities on the Microsoft Rewards portal, you accumulate points over time.
- Accumulate enough points to redeem an Amazon or Xbox digital gift card.
- Purchase a platform-specific gift card or store credit using those points.
- Apply the balance to your account on PC, mobile, or console, then buy the Welkin Moon through the standard in-game shop.
Depending on your region and daily activity, earning enough points typically takes roughly 40 to 45 days, meaning you can secure roughly one subscription per game patch cycle without spending cash.
Official HoYoLAB Community Events
HoYoverse occasionally hosts official web events on the HoYoLAB Community platform or official social media channels where active participants can win Primogems, merchandise, or occasionally a Welkin Moon subscription. While these community giveaways have low win rates and aren't guaranteed, they represent the only official, developer-sanctioned method to win a subscription without spending money.
Red Flags: Avoiding Welkin Scams
Because the community desires cheap or free subscriptions, scammers target players constantly. Keep these safety rules in mind:
- Never share your login credentials. No third-party site needs your username and password to send you a Welkin Moon; official top-up sites like Codashop only require your UID and server region.
- Ignore "Free Welkin Generators". Websites claiming to generate free Genesis Crystals or subscription codes by filling out surveys are data-harvesting phishing scams.
- Be skeptical of social media DMs. Accounts claiming you won a giveaway out of nowhere are almost always impersonators trying to steal your cookie data or login tokens.
Maximizing F2P Primogems Without Welkin
If you choose to remain strictly free-to-play, you can still pull your favorite characters by optimizing your daily routine. A standard patch yields thousands of Primogems through consistent play.
- Daily Commissions: Complete your four daily commissions and speak to Katheryne for 60 Primogems every day.
- Spiral Abyss and Imaginarium Theater: Clear combat challenge resets on schedule to collect high-tier Primogem rewards based on your combat performance.
- Limited Events: Major patch events serve as your primary source of bulk Primogems, often handing out over 1,000 primos across their duration.
- Exploration and Achievements: Maximize your Statue of the Seven levels, open chests, and complete world quests in newer regions like Natlan or Snezhnaya.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can Welkin Moon subscriptions stack?
Yes. You can purchase multiple Welkin Moons consecutively, and their durations will add together. The maximum stacking limit is 180 days. If you try to buy more than 180 days worth, the game will block the purchase.
Do Genesis Crystals convert to Primogems?
The 300 Genesis Crystals given instantly upon purchase can be converted into Primogems at a 1:1 ratio, though most players save them to buy character outfits. The daily 90 drops arrive directly as Primogems.
What happens if I miss a day of logging in?
If you don't log into the game on a specific day, you forfeit that day's 90 Primogems. HoYoverse does not mail retroactive rewards for missed login days, so make sure to quick-login daily to claim your mail.
Are third-party top-up sites safe?
Authorized distributors like Codashop or Razer Gold are completely safe because they partner directly with HoYoverse and only require your public UID. Avoid unauthorized grey-market key resellers that sell discounted premium currency using stolen credit cards, as these can result in negative Primogem balances or account bans.
