Planning a trip to the warehouse requires knowing exact operating times to avoid locked doors or long lines. The Costco location in Middleton, Wisconsin, situated at 2150 Deming Way, operates on specific schedules that vary between standard members and Executive members, alongside separate hours for auxiliary departments like the pharmacy, gas station, and optical center.
Standard Gold Star and Business members can shop Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 8:30 PM, Saturdays from 9:30 AM to 7:00 PM, and Sundays from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Meanwhile, Executive members enjoy early access starting at 9:00 AM Monday through Saturday and 9:00 AM on Sunday, helping frequent shoppers beat the morning rush. Understanding these distinct timeframes ensures you pick the right slot for your weekly grocery run or tire rotation.
Standard Warehouse Schedule vs. Executive Hours
Navigating the doors of Warehouse #1020 depends heavily on your membership tier. While the general public and standard members enter during standard operational blocks, Executive members gain an extra hour of early morning access on most days.
Here is how the main warehouse schedule breaks down: To see the full picture, we recommend the detailed analysis by The New York Times.
- Gold Star and Business Member Hours: Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 8:30 PM; Saturday from 9:30 AM to 7:00 PM; Sunday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
- Executive Member Hours: Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 8:30 PM; Saturday from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM; Sunday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Arriving during the first hour of executive access means significantly shorter checkout lines and easier parking near the entrance. If you hold a standard membership, plan to arrive right at 10:00 AM on weekdays or 9:30 AM on Saturdays to secure the freshest produce and avoid peak afternoon congestion.
Specialized Department Hours
The main warehouse doors don't dictate when every service inside operates. Specialized departments like the pharmacy, optical center, and gas station maintain independent schedules that you must verify before making a special trip.
Pharmacy Hours
The pharmacy is closed on Sundays, which catches many weekend shoppers off guard. From Monday through Friday, staff are available from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. On Saturdays, the pharmacy operates from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Note that when only a single pharmacist is on duty, the pharmacy may close for a mandatory 30-minute lunch break between 1:30 PM and 2:30 PM. You can reach the pharmacy team directly at (608) 824-3959 for prescription inquiries.
Gas Station Hours
For drivers looking to fill up on affordable fuel, the Middleton gas station opens earlier and closes later than the main warehouse. Fuel pumps operate Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM, Saturdays from 6:00 AM to 8:30 PM, and Sundays from 6:00 AM to 7:30 PM. Early morning slots before 8:00 AM are typically the quietest times to pump gas without waiting behind a queue of trucks.
Optical and Hearing Aid Departments
The optical department handles glasses, contacts, and eye exams, while the hearing aid center provides testing and fittings. Both generally align with main store hours, but calling ahead via the official Costco Warehouse Finder ensures technicians are on-site during your visit.
Holiday Closures and Schedule Changes
Like most major wholesale clubs, the Middleton location shuts its doors completely on major holidays. You won't find the warehouse open on New Year's Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, or Christmas Day.
Furthermore, expect shortened hours on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, where the warehouse typically closes earlier in the afternoon around 5:00 PM or 6:00 PM. Checking local announcements on the City of Middleton Official Site for regional traffic updates near Deming Way can also help you plan a smooth route around holiday shopping surges.
Tips for a Smooth Shopping Trip
Timing your visit correctly saves both time and frustration. Consider these practical strategies when planning your next trip to Deming Way:
- Target mid-morning or mid-afternoon on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for the lowest foot traffic. Weekends between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM consistently see the heaviest crowds and hardest parking conditions.
- Schedule tire appointments online through the official portal before driving over. While walk-ins are accepted based on bay availability, booked slots take priority.
- Keep your digital membership card ready in the app before walking up to the entrance scanner to keep the entry line moving smoothly.
